Full grant policy

This policy explains which projects the Trust can support and how applications are considered.

  1. Purpose and location

    The Trust operates a grant scheme which supports community projects, environmental improvements and heritage conservation from organisations within a one-mile radius of the Conduit Head, located by the bowling green in Cannock town centre.

  2. Applications and decisions

    Applications can be made at any time of the year. Meetings take place in May and November, when applications are considered for authorisation by the Conduit Committee Board of Trustees.

    Recipients will be notified of the decision by email and asked to provide bank details so the grant can be paid directly to the recipient.

  3. Criteria for grant authorisation

    • The organisation is located within a one-mile radius of the Conduit Head.
    • The organisation has a bank account.
    • The application demonstrates how the grant will benefit the local community within the one-mile radius.
    • The application demonstrates how the grant will fulfil a need that would otherwise not be met.
    • The application explains any fundraising undertaken and whether funds have already been raised towards the project.

    The Trust will also take into account any previous grants awarded.

  4. Applications we cannot consider

    • Organisations intending to support or oppose any political party.
    • Organisations intending to discriminate on grounds including race, religion, marital status, sexual orientation or sexuality. This is not an exhaustive list.
    • Applications from individuals or businesses.
    • Applications for general day-to-day expenses.
